🎯The Truth About Double-Standards Regarding Women Leaders Of Church & Marketplace Ministries 🎯
A few weeks ago at a private dinner hosted by a well-known pastor in Jacksonville, the (male) pastor sitting next to me asked what was my biggest challenge is as a Female Pastor?
I was actually impressed that he was willing to ask!
So I thanked him for asking and began to share insight.
Little did I know, a glaring example would come forth later that night, in the same setting.
Towards the end of the evening, the host had all the local pastors stand to introduce ourselves and our churches.
It was interesting how much the host pastor seemed to be a little side-tracked or confused, that I was standing. 🤷🏾♀️
At least 2 times before handing me the mic, he gingerly yet precisely asked, as if to confirm : Sooo, you’re a local pastor? So you have a church here!?
Of course I played it off smiled real big both times as I hoped to ease what appeared to be his uncomfortableness with handing me the mic!
Although later as if to prove acceptance, he addressed me as Prophetess.
Then I was reminded of what happened recently in my hometown of Omaha.
Someone accused me of putting my “ministry” before family!
It was a gut-punch of the lowest degree.
As I listened to their “pioussed” reasonings, I realized they were highly prejudiced toward female leaders.
Since they didn’t live with me, nor contribute to the currency of my home, they were only guessing and assuming based on their limited knowledge of my household and my public routines and actions.
And based on, at best the personal knowledge they had of me maybe 20 years ago! 🤷🏾♀️
Then it dawned on me‼️
🎯Had I been a male preacher/pastor/speaker, their concerns wouldn’t exist.🎯
