He was a proud Father.
I‘ve learned a lot about love, life, family and a father’s love since he’s been gone.
And yes, it’s true, you never know how much you miss a person or what you value the most about them many times until they ARE gone.
I think what I miss the most is his authentic love and support of who God called and assigned me to be.
🎯The Truth is, I’ve learned through him, Love is indeed an ACTION WORD! 🎯
Thus believe what people do above what they say until their actions meet and live up to their words.
Though he didn’t say “I love you!” much growing up - that was his culture and I’m good with that, he did ALL he could to show love through his loving actions.
He was actually on my ministry email list and would respond back to my emails when I would least expect it. 🧐😆
I don’t even think I know he had registered to be on it until he responded to one of my email updates!!!
I Remember the time I shared about an event I hosted where God moved in signs wonders and miracles!
His email response back?
“You know your great-grandmother was a healer too! Even in the Baptist church in Louisiana! “ 🧐
I was flabbergasted!‼️
How could he have NOT remembered to share that earlier?!⁉️
He had never shared that verbally or anything of the sort.
Yet, via email he was able to connect me with a glimpse of my spiritual heritage.‼️
Also, at least once a month or so, he would make sure to have my mother send a TITHE from what came in his household.
No matter how many times he made sure to send it, I was always pleasantly surprised and honored at the same time!!! ‼️
Yep, that wasn’t about the money , it was about the fact that he clearly recognized and received the God In me enough to sow into me.
Indeed there is nothing like the affirmation of a FATHER.
So for all the ways he took time to affirm and bless me in peculiar ways in his latter years, I honor him, DeWayne Holmes Sr.
